The mall is being developed by Peter Gethi who says unlike most malls in Nairobi, Rosslyn Riviera is different because it is styled as a neighborhood mall in an environment of peaceful greenery.

The Rosslyn Riviera becomes the first eco-friendly neighbourhood mall in Kenya to be built in accordance with global environmental standards and ‘green’ principles. It is designed to harness natural light for its power requirements, and will also be able to harvest rainwater and do water recycling.

The management has hired the guidance of leading security experts to advice on the security strategy of the mall. It has ample parking space that have been well laid out for an easy-to-navigate format to provide comfortable access into and out of the Mall.

Rosslyn Riviera Chandarana chain of supermarkets

The Rosslyn Riviera mall is expected to open by March 2016 with Chandarana chain of supermarkets being it anchor tenant. Other brands that have already shown interest include Style, Basic Intimates, Biance Nero, and RAGS.

The construction analysts estimate the total cost of the Rosslyn Riviera to be around Ksh2billion. The mall is also at close proximity to other leafy suburbs of Runda, Muthaiga, Kigwaru, Nyari, the UN complex in Gigiri and Ruaka. It is also next to the upcoming Two Rivers Mall shopping complex that is being built by Centum Group. The mall is close to Northern Bypass, and will be accessed either from Limuru road, or through the proposed link road from Waiyaki Way.

There has been a growing demand for retail space in Kenya driven by the growing middle class in the country and relatively unsaturated retail market. The Rosslyn Riviera investment has also been encouraged by the positive economic growth the country is currently experiencing, foreign interests from international brands, and further strong growth expected in the future.
