Sultan Palace Beach Retreat Kilifi, the Largest Water park in East Africa

Sultan Palace Beach Retreat is a serene and fun-filled high end resort located in the coastal town of Kikambala in Kilifi County.

The construction began in April 2014 and will be built in phases with full completion expected to be in 2016. It is being developed by Sultan Palace Development,a Kenyan real estate company  owned by Jiang Xinyu estate development company from China, and is estimated to cost about Sh 5 billion.

The project is built on a 43 acres piece of land along 700 m white sandy beach of Kikambala and will include Emerald Condominiums, Rubi Beach Houses, Diamond Residence, Residents´ Clubhouse, and a Five Star Hotel.

Transforming quarry sites to a recreational water park

The Sultan Palace project will see the three abandoned quarries transformed into beautiful, and what is set to become the largest water parks in Kenya and the East Africa region. The work will involve rehabilitating and beautifying the land to restore the landscape and include other additional features.

The design of the apartments and holiday homes are inspired by Swahili and Arabic architecture. They feature air conditioners to keep the house cool from the warm coastal weather. The roads around the resort are open spaced for easy access and navigation. The resort has its own supply of clean water from a borehole and water treatment facility, a 24/7 security system and CCTV, a backup generator.

The residents club called ‘The Souk’, is dubbed the heart and soul of the Sultan Palace community, and will feature a cocktail bar, a beach bar, a gourmet restaurant, a cafe, a games room, a members lounge and a gym managed by leading hospitality brands.

 

There will be a water park and a kid club well designed for the kids and the whole family. It will also have controlled access to the beach to ensure security and privacy of the residents. The Kikambala coastline boasts one of the best sandy beach on the Kenyan coast, with a cool ocean breeze, palm trees and beautiful coral reefs.

Second phase of Sultan Palace Beach Retreat Kilifi

 

The second phase will see a five star hotel constructed which will be managed a leading hotel brand. The hotel will have conference facilities in a bid to generate more visitors to the Sultan Palace. According to the management, conferences that will be held there will also benefit local residents from additional bookings in their homes throughout the year via the management company.

 

The resort is expected to be completed by December 2016 and the apartments will cost from Sh9.95 million and the beach houses will start around Sh29.95 million.

 

You can also easily access other prime location in the areas like Nyali and Bamburi for shopping, water sports and night life; a golf course, and a sailing club are within a short distance. The resort is just 25 km from Mombasa and 15 minutes from Mtwapa town.

 

The Sultan Palace Beach Resort is expected to greatly contribute to the blooming tourism industry at the Kenyan coast. The Sultan Palace management say the choice to set up the resort at the coastal town was mainly driven by a growing demand for beach resorts worldwide.
