Top ups of the account can be made through banks, mobile money accounts like Airtel money and through County agents. The packing fees in Nairobi is KSh 300/= per day.

According to the County, every transaction made will be reflected on their systems after five seconds which will greatly curb a lot of corruption. The new mode will also reduce the time previously spent by motorists obtaining parking tickets manually from County officials.

The County also expects to use this service to triple its revenue collection since it will seal loopholes that the county was experiencing before by use of printed receipts where the County says it loses close to Sh250,000 daily in car parking fees through corruption and inefficient staff.

The Ejijipay cashless payment system technology is supported by JamboPay, which is also used by Nairobi Water Company to electronically collect water bills payments made by Nairobi residents.

EJijiPay is part of Nthe airobi county e-payment system, a self service portal that provides a platform for Nairobi residents to pay for services electronically. Other services currently offered electronically include: application and renewal for sa ingle business permit, payment of land rates, paying rent for County houses and payment of construction fee.
