This Turkish retailer, LC Wakiki entered the Kenyan Market back in 2017 and has already opened two outlets up to now. The first branch was started in February at Two Rivers Mall which has been thriving well since then. The second branch was then started in October at Hub Mall situated at Karen.

However, the international fashion chain is planning to open a third outlet in April 2018 at City Mall in Nyali in the Coastal region. This is an ideal place that will serve the residents of the area and tourists from other parts of the country and world.

The preparation of opening the LC Wakiki branch in Coast has been underway for a while. This can be accustomed to the recruiting of staff that was started in August last year for the store manager position. In addition, there were also other posts that were advertised as time went by.

Turkish’s decision of setting up in Kenya was driven by the stable and fast-growing economy in the country. During their launch, they stated that they were aiming to have set up 1500 stores worldwide by 2023 having already opened 600 stores in 28 countries. They also aim to open more stores as time goes by, after monitoring the performance of the already established stores. There is competition in getting space in newly opened and established malls in the country that is acting as a barrier to their diversity.
